Dawn Mathews - Schools Business Manager

Tettenhall Wood School

Jo Woodcock - SIMS Manager

I started working for Wolverhampton Council after leaving school in 1987. I have worked in various departments, primarily in Finance and Data support. I moved to the Education department in the mid 90’s, with my first role in Education being budget planning and supporting FMS, progressing to SIMS and Technical Support before taking the post of SIMS Manager in 2001.

I have been involved in the movement of SIMS to many new platforms starting from the original dos system to windows, .net, and more recently SQL. My main areas of expertise include Attendance, Behaviour Management, SEN, Personnel and Reporting.

Hayley Dibble – SIMS and Data Support Officer

I joined Wolverhampton City Council as a Customer Service and Administration Apprentice in 2003 and gained experience in a variety of areas over the years before joining the Team in April 2010 as a Schools Data Support Officer.  I now support schools in Assessment Analysis, Personnel, Data Entry, Reporting and Census. I am particularly keen on helping schools make the most of their data and preparing them for OFSTED.

In January 2015 I returned to work after being on maternity leave and now work not only on the Data side, but also as part of the SIMS Support Team.

Shaun Brokenshire – Senior SIMS Support Officer

I joined the Sims Support Team back in 2012 after working in e-Services ICT Support Team for 3 years and gaining experience in educational IT support.

I am responsible for training and development of school staff and identifying areas for development as well as providing guidance for future training needs. My main SIMS modules of experience are the Dinner Money Module, Reporting Functionality and Technical aspects.

Zoe Angel – SIMS Development Officer

I have been working for WCC since 2007; prior to this I developed bespoke web applications after completing my Computer Science Software Engineering Bsc (Hons) at Wolverhampton University. My council employment began as a Data Support Officer supporting my allocated schools every week with issues including: Attendance, Assessment, School Census, Workforce Census, Maintaining Student and Staff Data, End of year procedures, Reporting etc. Following this I worked as a SIMS Support Officer providing User Support and Training whilst improving my knowledge of SIMS Modules like Behaviour Management, Dinner Money, Profiles and Discover. In my current role as a SIMS Development Officer I am developing my understanding of Nova T6, Timetabling and Exams. Currently I offer advice and develop assessment solutions using Templates, Tracking Grids (Brickwalls), Matrices, Discover and Custom Reports/Analysis.

Working closely with so many schools with such a variety of issues has given me valuable experience, allowing me to understand SIMS issues from many different perspectives and appreciate how SIMS can be used to develop effective processes and support School Improvement.

At present I am working as a Sims Support Assistant; I commenced in 2009. My role is to support schools with queries, booking training courses, assisting with upgrades and patches, assisting in training sessions and helpdesk support for SIMS.
